Rev. M. Derek Jacks, Senior Pastor
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Derek has served as Senior Pastor of HCPC since September 2009. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Samford University in 2006 and completed his Master of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School in 2010. Prior to coming to HCPC, Derek served as Associate Pastor for Youth at Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Before entering full-time ministry, Derek worked in both the construction and banking industries, experiences that continue to shape his leadership and pastoral perspective. He is active in the life of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, serving as Director of graceCONVO, Grace Presbytery’s annual youth event in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and as a member of the Grace Presbytery Board of Missions. He also serves as an elected member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Ministry Council. Derek has been married to his high school sweetheart, Cindy, since 2001. They are the proud parents of three children: Ava, Braden, and Drew.

Dr. Lynn Faulkner, Director of Music & Pianist
Dr. Lynn Faulkner (painted above by HCPC’s own Tom Dameron) has served as pianist for HCPC since 2001. She also serves accompanist, adjunct professor, and class piano instructor at the University of Montevallo.
